Patio Paw Party

Fully Fenced

Give your pooch some R&R time in our fully-fenced yard (~1200 square feet) hosted by myself and Mo, the dog of the house. Not only does the yard have privacy greenery in the back for shy toileters, (fence intact and bushes cut back enough for full visibility of our fur babes) but we provide the luxury of a new raised wooden deck partially shaded by a large oak tree and with an electrical outlet in the event that fans/misters are needed in high temps. The lot doesn't have many frills, but the chain-link areas of the fence provide lots of opportunities for people watching/barking. The visibility also serves as a back-up security guard; my next door neighbor (avid dog lover) is retired and keeps an eye on the yard activities from her house. She also visits with Mo either through the fence or by coming over to give some lovins and refresh water bowls in the event that I am at work. There are 2 outdoor entries to the back yard, both secured with locks. Combinations provided at booking confirmation and via text message for easy reference. Mo is not an escape digger anymore since cementing the driveway, which prevents him from crawling/digging under the chain link fence to one side of the house. The other side of the yard has a tall wooden gate entry flanked by wire fencing; this fencing is only about 2 feet total in length, and it is the only area on the lot that would be compromised if there is a known escape digger on our hands. If digging is noticed, it should be no problem to line the small area with cement blocks or slabs. There is no lattice or siding lining the under-the-deck area, which is mostly rocky dirt and forgotten dog toys. It is frequented by Mo and maintenance/service crews with no concern for dangerous critters (no snakes, racoons, etc). I mention this area because while it is shady and temperature-comfortable, there is a chance the animals will be sandy/dirty. If this becomes an issue, I can acquire some lattice or chicken wire as a potential barrier. Plenty of room on the raised patio for never-ending water bowls, toys, and anything else requested by the dogs. Please feel free to voice any questions/concerns if something wasn't mentioned above. Please come by and check it out yourself - we are a lovely and easy walk from Washington Dog Park, Washington Perk (southside) and (depending on the day you have had) Southside Beer Garden - all very dog friendly. Look forward to meeting you!

Indoor, temperature-controlled room (20'x40') with rubber flooring

Fully Fenced
0.2 acres

Local dog training facility has a 20'x50' space with a 10'x10' entry room and a 6'x6' bathroom. The entry room crates an air lock between the main training room (approx. 20'x40') and the parking lot. Main training room has rubber flooring for traction when running, jumping, playing, etc. Have a dog who would love to run around with friends, play “find it” or fetch, use our food puzzle toys, practice their training skills, or just plain have fun while off-leash in a safe, temperature-controlled room? Rent the training center and get the training room all to yourself! Unfortunately, because we are a dog training facility, you can only schedule for anytime the training center is not in use. This means that we have very limited evening and weekend availability since this is prime time for training programs. When you rent the training center, you can: Host a play date – we allow up to eight dogs per family and up to five dogs who do not live together to play off-leash in our training room at a time. Play fetch or “find it” games – we have an electronic ball throwing device! Use our selection of food puzzle toys. Practice your manners and obedience commands in a familiar environment. Just get out of the house and hang out with your best friend while using our WiFi and temperature-controlled facility.

This was my first time using Sniff Spot, and thanks to this experience, it'... more

Frequently asked questions about North Carolina dog parks

Are there dog parks in North Carolina for reactive dogs?

Yes! North Carolina has 6 private dog parks specifically designed for reactive, anxious, or dog-selective pets. Unlike public dog parks where unexpected encounters can trigger your reactive dog, Sniffspot offers completely private bookings. That means only you and your dogs will be there. We enforce 30-minute buffers between visits so you won't run into other park users when arriving or leaving. This makes North Carolina Sniffspots perfect for reactive dogs who need safe off-leash exercise.

How many private dog parks are in North Carolina?

North Carolina has 6 private Sniffspot locations ranging from cozy backyard spaces to expansive properties spanning 0.5+ acres. You'll find fully fenced dog parks, dog water parks, and small dog parks options, each offering complete privacy during your reserved time. Browse listings to compare sizes, amenities, fencing, and reviews from other North Carolina dog owners.

Are North Carolina dog parks friendly for all dog types?

Absolutely! North Carolina Sniffspot locations work for every type of dog: puppies learning socialization, senior dogs needing gentle exercise, small dogs who feel safer away from large breeds, high-energy dogs requiring space to run, and yes, reactive or anxious dogs needing privacy. Because bookings are completely private, you can customize the experience to your dog's specific needs—whether that's careful puppy introductions or stress-free exercise for nervous dogs.

Will there be other dogs at North Carolina dog parks?

No, that's what makes Sniffspot different from public dog parks! We only allow one booking at a time, and host dogs must be kept away during your visit. When you book a North Carolina dog park, you have the entire space to yourself (plus any dog-owning friends you invite). This privacy is crucial for reactive dogs, puppies in training, or any dog who needs space from other animals.

What makes North Carolina dog parks safe for anxious dogs?

North Carolina Sniffspot locations provide controlled, predictable environments without the chaos of public dog parks. There are no aggressive dogs, no inattentive owners, and no unexpected encounters that could traumatize anxious or fearful dogs. All guests must have vaccinated dogs (or titers), and hosts maintain clean spaces. 93% of Sniffspot reviews are 5 stars, with many highlighting how safe their reactive or anxious dogs felt.

Can puppies use North Carolina dog parks?

Absolutely! North Carolina dog parks are ideal for puppy socialization because they provide controlled, distraction-free environments. Puppies can practice recall, build confidence, and explore without the overwhelming chaos of public dog parks. Just ensure your puppy has age-appropriate vaccinations before visiting any North Carolina Sniffspot.

Are North Carolina dog parks good for small dogs?

Yes! Many North Carolina Sniffspot hosts mark their spaces as "small dog friendly," meaning they're appropriately sized for toy breeds and small dogs. Unlike public dog parks where small dogs risk being overwhelmed or injured by larger breeds, North Carolina private bookings give your small dog the entire space to themselves. Look for secure fencing with minimal gaps and hosts who understand petite pup needs.

What are the requirements for North Carolina dog parks?

All dogs must have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. Each North Carolina host may have additional requirements listed on their booking page. Most welcome all breeds, sizes, and temperament levels, including reactive dogs who can't safely visit traditional public dog parks.
