Dormant Logging Land

Unfenced
40 acres

My family owns 40 acres of timber country on a mountainside outside Cinebar. We have owned this land for about 100 years and log it every 40 years. The rest of the time it just grows trees. We would love to have guests there. The land has a network of logging roads and paths for access. The land is on a hillside with overlooks and creeks and 100 foot high forest trees. It is a fantastic area for a dog to explore. We keep the road locked, but we can unlock it for you when you come. If you have a four wheel drive vehicle you can drive into the land. Otherwise, we recommend parking at the road and hiking in. On the east side there is a fenced property that has a dog, but it is a securely fenced area. Let me know if you have any questions. Have a blast!

Dog Park at Dragons Gate Gardens

We have a one acre fully fenced area that lies on the west of the frontage of the property. The lot is treed and has logs and mounds that vary the terrain. There is a livestock run in shed and the lot has water available.

55Great experience. Rebecca was great, super flexible. The dog loved it... acres of room to run and new pig friends to top it off (in a separate pen, no co-mingling!). Only an hour from Portland, will definitely be going back!

55This place is amazing! As I was walking out into the fields, I literally thought "this place is heaven". The fields are truly endless and fully fenced (but with cattle fencing, so not 100% secure). Soba had a great time exploring and sniffing around the fields and I loved taking in the views. I would recommend bringing boots (and a towel for your pup), since it was a bit muddy - it had rained that morning. Be aware that there are cows on the property, but the play area was very far away from the cows.

Frequently asked questions about Rainier dog parks

What amenities do private dog parks in Rainier offer that public parks don't?

Rainier private dog parks offer amenities you'll never find at public facilities: swimming pools for water-loving dogs, agility equipment for training, climate-controlled indoor spaces for year-round use, hiking trails on private property, and secure fencing customized for different dog sizes. Hosts provide poop bags, water stations, toys, and even dog wash stations. Dormant Logging Land is especially known for exceptional amenities. Every Rainier listing shows exactly what's included—no surprises.

Are there fully fenced private dog parks in Rainier?

Yes! Most of Rainier's 27 Sniffspot locations are fully fenced. Use the "fully fenced" filter to find secure enclosures with detailed fencing specs: height (4ft, 6ft, 8ft+), material (wood, chain-link, vinyl), and gap information. This is crucial for escape artists, puppies learning boundaries, or reactive dogs who need contained space. Rainier listings show fencing photos so you can verify security before booking.

How clean are private dog parks in Rainier compared to public ones?

Significantly cleaner. Public dog parks in Rainier are maintained by overworked city staff and often littered with waste from dozens of dogs daily. Sniffspot hosts in Rainier maintain their own spaces and take pride in cleanliness since it directly affects their reviews and bookings. Many Rainier hosts provide fresh poop bags, empty trash regularly, and sanitize water stations. Plus, with only one booking at a time, waste accumulation is minimal. Check reviews to see cleanliness ratings.

What types of dog parks can I find in Rainier?

Rainier has 27 diverse options: small dog parks for specific training activities, dog water parks for different environments, and fully fenced dog parks for varied experiences. Want a backyard for simple off-leash time? We've got it. Need acres of trails for hiking? Check. Looking for water access or agility obstacles? Available. Browse by park type to see what matches your dog's interests, then filter by location within Rainier to find convenient options.

Can I book Rainier dog parks on short notice?

Usually yes! Many Rainier Sniffspot locations offer same-day or next-day availability, and most bookings can be made instantly without waiting for host approval. Unlike public dog parks that might be crowded during peak times, Rainier private parks let you reserve exactly when you need them—early morning before work, midday breaks, or evening exercise. Check individual listings for real-time availability and booking policies.

Do Rainier dog parks have water access?

Many do! Filter Rainier's 27 locations by amenities to find dog parks with swimming pools, natural ponds, creeks, or beach access. Water features are perfect for Rainier's hot summer days or for dogs who love to swim. Each listing specifies water type and depth, plus whether it's safe for swimming or just wading. Some Rainier hosts provide life vests or shallow kiddie pools for water-nervous dogs.

Are there indoor dog parks in Rainier?

Yes! Rainier has climate-controlled indoor options perfect for extreme weather, rainy days, or year-round exercise. Indoor Rainier locations typically feature rubberized flooring (easier on joints), artificial turf, or padded surfaces. They're especially popular for puppy training, senior dogs needing gentle surfaces, or reactive dogs benefiting from enclosed environments. Filter by "indoor" to see Rainier's covered and climate-controlled options.

What's the best time to visit dog parks in Rainier?

With Sniffspot, any time works since bookings are private! Unlike public dog parks that are crowded during peak hours (early mornings, evenings, weekends), you don't have to worry about timing in Rainier. Book whenever fits your schedule—midday when public parks are empty, dawn for cool weather, or late evening for convenience. Many Rainier locations have lighting for after-dark visits. The flexibility is one of the biggest advantages over public parks.
