2. The Hurst Dog Park is open 7:00 A.M. – 7:00 P.M. with the following exceptions: a. Daylight savings time, the hours are 7:00 A.M. – 9:00 P.M. b. Closed due to inclement weather conditions, dangerous conditions, or other maintenance requirements. c. Closed Wednesdays for general mowing and maintenance from 7:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. d. It is a violation to enter the park outside of the posted hours per Municipal Code 15-5. 3. Dogs must display current rabies vaccination tags, and be properly vaccinated for rabies, as required by Municipal Code 4-20. 4. Only dogs are permitted in the dog park. 5. Puppies must be a minimum of four (4) months old to enter the dog park. 6. A maximum of two (2) dogs per User are permitted in the dog park at any one time. 7. Dogs must be leashed when entering or leaving the dog park, and off leash while inside the dog park. 8. Park gates must be closed and latched at all times. 9. Users must remain within the dog park with their dog(s), have the dog(s) within view and have their dog(s) under voice control at all times. 10. Children 12 years of age and under must be accompanied by an adult, who is solely responsible for the child’s behavior and safety. 11. Users or children are not allowed to run with or chase dogs in the dog park. 12. The small dog area is reserved for puppies and dogs weighing less than 30 pounds. The large dog area is open to dogs of all sizes. 13. Dogs that are aggressive, sick, have open wounds, engage in excessive barking, or females in heat are not allowed in the dog park. a. Aggressive means to pose a threat of harm to another dog, or human, involving snarling, growling, snapping, biting, barking, or lunging. 14. Users are required to pick up and dispose of their dog’s feces both inside and outside of the dog park per Municipal Code 4-42. 15. Only water is allowed inside the dog park. a. Food, including dog treats, or other beverages, is not allowed. 16. Carriages, strollers, bicycles, skateboards, scooters, skates, roller blades, sport activities, children’s toys, wading pools, or any motorized vehicles are prohibited in the dog park, unless necessary by reason of handicap or disability, or authorized for maintenance. 17. Digging is not allowed in the dog park. Users must repair any damage caused by digging. If the user fails to repair damage caused by digging, the city may assess any damages and cost of repairs against the User. 18. Dog grooming is not permitted in the dog park. 19. Commercial activity is not permitted in the dog park, including dog training classes, solicitations, and/or advertisements. 20. Dog breeding, copulation, or propagation of any kind is not permitted inside of or near the outside perimeter of the dog park or within and around the parking areas. 21. Balls and plastic discs are the only toys allowed in the dog park; no other dog toys are allowed. 22. Spiked, prong, choke, or pinch collars are not allowed in the dog park. 23. Users must wear shoes at all times. 24. Smoking is not allowed in the park per Municipal Code 19-3. 25. All other park rules and city ordinances apply to the dog park.
