RPAW takes on the most difficult cases that other rescues will often not even consider. Every animal gets a chance to live it’s best life after they are physically and mentally treated for whatever ails them. I am proud to support this wonderful organization.

Rescued Pets Are Wonderful is a non-profit, no-kill, volunteer animal rescue organization serving the Twin Cities metro area. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs and cats left homeless for whatever reason – focusing on the ones with major medical issues or of senior age. These are the ones that are usually overlooked because they are not “highly adoptable.” They are also the ones that cost the most to the organizations. We believe they are the most in need of help!

Mission and Vision

Rescued Pets Are Wonderful is a non-profit, no-kill, volunteer animal rescue organization serving the Twin Cities metro area. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs and cats left homeless for whatever reason – focusing on the ones with major medical issues or of senior age. These are the ones that are usually overlooked because they are not “highly adoptable.” They are also the ones that cost the most to the organizations. We believe they are the most in need of help!

Adoption Policy

We place dogs and cats in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog or cat into their homes and lives. Taking in major medical cases and senior animals means that they will likely have more care needed life long. We make sure that they are placed in homes that are able to financially and physically care for them long term.

"Rescued Pets Are Wonderful has been in Minnesota since 2004. As it evolved, it became a "medical" rescue for dogs that other rescues could not afford to take in. The rescue coordinates its efforts to save dogs not only from euthanasia, but medical conditions that should not alter their life span. They have worked extensively with many medical specialists in this effort and have found innovative ways to treat the dogs in their care including using fish skin to heal a large area that needed grafting. This rescue is a vital element to the total rescue effort in Minnesota and needs all the support it can get since adoption fees for the animals it rescues don't come close to the cost to heal and rehabilitate them. Please support this rescue!"

"Rescued Pets are Wonderful (RPAW) found my forever fur baby and took care of him for me until I found his picture on the internet & thought I need to have this little baby in my life. Otis fka: Marco is a Boston Terrier mix and had been a stray. He had been attacked by another dog. Rescued Pets are Wonderful had been contacted and they said they would take his case on. His front right leg was so badly damaged, they had to remove it. We have had him now for 3yrs & this little tri-paw of mine gets along amazing. Rescued Pets are Wonderful take on MANY urgent major medical issues with their rescues, unfortunately there are some that do not make it through and their journey ends but RPAW always makes sure to let the littles know that their life mattered. I can not thank Liz and all those affiliated with RPAW enough for my lil Otis."

"RPAW has taken on some of the most difficult medical rescues I have ever seen. The patience and care they show these furbabies touch my heart. I'm amazed at their successes and how they continue to care for some of the most vulnerable. Their dedication is to be commended."

"RPAW took in my mothers dog when she could no longer take care of her. The love that Jen (RPAW) showered Maya with while in her care was beyond anything my sister and I could of hoped for. Maya was placed into the perfect furever home with the help of RPAW and was able to live her life out full of love and affection! Maya was a big breed dog that would have been hard to find a home for. RPAW did not hesitate in taking her in and loving her to the fullest. The work they did for our Maya and the work they do for other dogs is beyond amazing!"

"This shelter is tireless in its efforts to save animals in their care. They take some of the most needy animals and give them all the love and care they can"

"I found my rescue pup through them. They were easy to work with and I could tell from the get go they would absolutely do their best to give each animal a perfect home, not just allow anyone and everyone to get the pet they requested. They make sure it will be the perfect fit. Almost 6 years ago, we got our boy from them. He's been an amazing addition to our little family. I always recommend them, and recommend to adopt not to shop."

"RPAW came into my life through the recommendation from a friend at one of my darkest hours. My mom was losing her battle with Alzheimer’s. We were forced to seperate her from her darling senior Pitbull and companion Maya. I was completely out of options for rehoming her when I found RPAW. They immediately took our sweet girl, senior, pitbull, bad hips and all. She mattered to them and they found her a loving family that absolutely adored her until her final days. I am forever grateful. RPAW takes care of the “underdogs” (and cats) no matter what and our community is a much better place because of them."
