Resilient Hearts Animal Sanctuary holds a special place in my heart. Since October 2023, my family and I have had the privilege of fostering four pups with them, and it's been a great experience. Not only does Resilient Hearts show unwavering love and care for all their animals, but their sense of community is truly remarkable. The support and camaraderie within the sanctuary's network have been invaluable. We couldn't ask for a better organization to be a part of, and we're proud to support their mission wholeheartedly.

"To me, dogs are about family. They aren't just members of the family but they improve the quality of our daily lives. Resilient Hearts Animal Sanctuary's foster system does so much to improve the lives of the dogs, the foster families and the eventual adopters that it's a win, win, win situation."

"Beautiful animal sanctuary that we and our friends love to foster and visit. Its the only animal rescue where my foster puppy/dog is SO EXCITED to return back to! The dogs/puppies are well socialized and they have built such an amazing community of animal lovers. I also take my friends there whenever I get a chance to, its the perfect spot for people to pet some dogs/puppies and get educated about them. Wonderful, wonderful place!"

"RHAS has gone above and beyond my expectations for a rescue! Just a couple months ago I adopted my sweet puppy Archie from Resilient Hearts, and every step of the process was incredible. The adoption coordinator, Nellie, was so kind and communicative despite I'm sure being crazy busy, and Tracy, who facilitated our meet and greet, answered all of my questions and more. The mandatory foster-to-adopt trial relieved some of the stress of adopting the right dog, and also made me feel sure that this rescue had the best interests of the pups in mind, and weren't just trying to move them along as quickly as possible. Since adopting Archie, I've had the great pleasure of joining the incredible community of adopters, fosters, and volunteers both online and in person. Archie loves to visit the rescue and help volunteer at events, and I love the opportunity to pick Mike's brain (one of the founders) who has so much incredible dog-behavior knowledge to share. RHAS really isn't just an animal rescue, it's a people rescue too; they're truly a pillar of the community, and every visit to Resilient Hearts feels like a big warm hug to my heart (and not just because of the puppies!)"

"Resilient Hearts is the BEST. From the first spotting of my pup’s photo on Instagram until adoption day, they have been so supportive. Someone was always available to answer my many questions as a new pup owner. It was always a joy to pop in and see all the new pups available for adoption as well as those already being fostered. Some were just there for some supervised playtime. There also were many people that just stopped in for some puppy love as well as numerous volunteers. Resilient Hearts does such a great job of supporting the animal and human communities."

"Our family found Resilient Hearts Animal Sanctuary in early 2023. We started by dropping in to play with puppies, help socialize them, and work on simple things like sit and 4 on the floor. Before we knew it we were mopping up puppy pee, and answering basic questions when people came in for the first time. By spring our highschool senior began regularly volunteering in conjunction with their senior project with Ahimsa Dog Training. Then came summer and several long weekends of adventures with foster pups Coriander, Clove, Amaro, Gin, or Storm at Lake Cushman. Verde and the Kissing-Booth came with us to a Halloween pet parade in Capitol Hill. Most of the monster pups went to the Lake City Harvest Market during a surprise downpour along with several high school volunteers to introduce RHAS to another neighborhood. Play dates with Rafa the GIANT puppy. Pinky and Brain the wee little chiweenies spent Thanksgiving and more with us. Calvin who was a “fire dog” and needed time to build trust after being rescued from a hoarding situation where there was a fire helped us finish out 2023 and begin 2024. He also helped us make Brownie who had grown up with him feel more settled in Seattle. A sleepover with Hero so she wouldn’t be all by herself. A 12th birthday celebration that included welcoming and naming 14 puppies and spontaneously taking Poppy home for a couple nights before her foster was ready. Ang another firedog came for an overnight so he wouldn’t spend his first night in Seattle alone. Sophie and Clover joined us for extended stays and visits to an elementary school and Cherry Blossoms. Babba G came over first a sleepover with Clover after they spent the day with RHAS at a “egg” hunt sponsored by the Barkery. Hanging out with so many pups, dogs, kitties, and people over the past year. Laughing, talking, and sharing. Looking forward to spending time with regulars and introducing people to RHAS. Turns out we haven’t just been helping pups, dogs, and kitties. We’ve been becoming part of the most amazing community. The welcoming and accepting atmosphere at Resilient Hearts is hard to find. We feel fortunate to be part of such a vibrant, supportive community and look forward to changing animal and human lives for the better. Oh and our dog loves it when we bring puppy/dog friends home."

"I have done some short term fostering for RHAS and have volunteered at a few events. They are an amazing group of people, incredibly kind and welcoming. They do a great job socializing the pups they get from partner rescues. Adopters have the option of staying in touch with the rescue’s community and can connect for play dates and litter reunions. My old and very beloved dog died last year and when I’m ready to adopt again I will definitely consider adopting from them."

"I have been volunteering and helping out at Resilient Hearts for the past year and it has been wonderful. It helps soo many dogs manage to find homes. They are thoughtful and caring to make sure that the dogs get what they need. It is a place where you can come in and just hang out with puppies and relax to help socialize them."
