We adopted our wonderful Rosie from ETPBR and she is THE MOST amazing dog ever. We love her so very much. I believe she is the greatest in part because of the care and love she received from Terri. Terri is the president of ETPBR and was Rosie’s foster Mom. She pours her heart and soul into her dogs. She gets them whatever they need regardless of the financial burden it may place on her. She gives them a forever home if no one else steps up to adopt them. She advocates tirelessly for this incredibly misunderstood breed. I would imagine her job is often thankless and emotionally exhausting, yet she continues day in and day out. Her love for these dogs Is unconditional and boundless which is then reflected in their sweet personalities. We have adopted from rescues and shelters for decades and ETPBR is by far the most organized, well-run, effective rescue we have worked with. We have been so moved by her dedication to these dogs and breed that we contribute as much financial support as we can to her/them. She and her rescue truly deserve national recognition. Thank you!!

East TN Pit Bull Rescue was started by our dear founder Wendy Martin Jackson. Wendy loved this breed and fought hard against BSL, misinformation, and ignorance about this breed. Since Wendy's passing, we are continuing her mission and legacy to stand up and fight for this breed.

Mission and Vision

Welcome To East TN Pit Bull Rescue. East Tennessee Pit Bull Rescue, Inc. is a Tennessee Non-profit Corporation with 501c3 status with the IRS. We will be focused on placing the dogs in our care in loving and responsible homes as we continue to work hard and remain steadfast in restoring the reputation of this wonderful breed. We are prepared to battle ignorance and fear through awareness, events, and educational efforts among the community. THIS is how we feel we will have the most impact in our community for these dogs. We will never be able to RESCUE them out of the mess we have allowed them to get in. It will only be thru education and awareness that we change the world around them! PLEASE SPAY AND NEUTER

"We adopted Gus from the ETPBR 3 years ago. The rescue worked with him thru having heartworm and helped him adjust to house life. His rescuer did a home visit, 2 week trail and stayed in touch after the adoption was official. When we got him he didn’t know how to use the stairs, wasn’t familiar with street sounds and needed to be socialized on regular walks. I could only imagine the work his rescuer did to get him to be ready to be adopted. Gus is the best dog I could ever hope for. He’s got personality in spades, keeps us on a tight schedule, reminds us to have fun and so very stubborn. If it weren’t for this rescue we would have never have gotten the privilege to know Gus. He makes our house a home."

"This rescue has been close to my heart for over a decade. After the beloved founder and Director unexpectedly passed, the rescue has grown and thrived and has developed a facility to care for even more of this misunderstood and loving breed. I admire every person involved!"

"Terri with ETPBR is amazing. Being the south, folks do not spay & neuter, and love their pit bulls, so there are so many that need homes. Terri works tirelessly for this breed helping them from TN and surrounding states. I have seen her have breakdowns because there is such a need and she works 24/7 taking care of these dogs and getting them into the CORRECT home. She really cares for the breed. As with everyone in animal rescue, she deserves this!"
