I saw a quirky little dog on the McKamey Instagram page and immediately fell in love! I went to meet her not intending to adopt her that day - I just wanted to meet her and think about it - but when I met her in person I knew I couldn’t leave without her. The staff at McKamey were so incredibly helpful. I didn’t realize when I arrived, but they were running a special with adoption fees waived for adult dogs. I showed up empty handed and they provided all the tools for a smooth transition. My new buddy has been such a delightful addition to my home. I am so thankful for McKamey Animal Center and all the great work they do in our community!

We adopted our wonderful Rosie from ETPBR and she is THE MOST amazing dog ever. We love her so very much. I believe she is the greatest in part because of the care and love she received from Terri. Terri is the president of ETPBR and was Rosie’s foster Mom. She pours her heart and soul into her dogs. She gets them whatever they need regardless of the financial burden it may place on her. She gives them a forever home if no one else steps up to adopt them. She advocates tirelessly for this incredibly misunderstood breed. I would imagine her job is often thankless and emotionally exhausting, yet she continues day in and day out. Her love for these dogs Is unconditional and boundless which is then reflected in their sweet personalities. We have adopted from rescues and shelters for decades and ETPBR is by far the most organized, well-run, effective rescue we have worked with. We have been so moved by her dedication to these dogs and breed that we contribute as much financial support as we can to her/them. She and her rescue truly deserve national recognition. Thank you!!

When we lost our beloved Molly Dane we were devastated. We reached out to Lucky Farms Animal Rescue to help us find another senior Great Dane that we could nurture. They thoughtfully and carefully worked with us to find our River Dane who has proven to be a perfect fit for our family. Based in Nashville Tennessee their network of screened and validated fosters across the south east enables them to react to large breed dogs in need quickly and efficiently as these dogs do not do well in shelters. They also maintain an extensive group of volunteers who stand ready to screen applicants for foster and or adoption, assist with transporting dogs and contribute time and resources to support the organization.

You must come in and meet any pet you are interested in adopting. When you arrive at the Center, enter the door marked “Adoptions” and an adoptions team member will show you where the adoptable animals are housed. Appointments are not required to visit the Center. Please Note: Adopters are served on a first-come, first-served basis, so please understand that the animal you are interested in may not be available when you arrive for your visit even if you have called to inquire about it.
