Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue, a 501c3 charitable organization based in Middle Tennessee, is run primarily by volunteers. Proverbs is totally dedicated to all animals they rescue. All medical care, regardless of cost, is provided as is training when necessary. A cradle to grave dedication is established by the care provided to neonates all the way to seniors who may need hospice care. Every animal rescued is cared for like a cherished family pet. Funds for medical care and food are raised by a variety of events, such as bake sales, golf scrambles, and participation in large media campaigns such as The Big Payback or through regular donations on our website.

"I adopted Peanut who recently passed away. I adopted him 13 years ago and Lavonne, the Director, and all of the staff at 12:10 have been absolutely fabulous. We’ve kept in contact throughout the years they’ll send me emails and updates and even sent Peanut a toy when I lost Peanut I eventually was ready to adopt again. The transport got canceled and one of the volunteers. They are volunteered to drive Lily all the way from Tennessee to Rhode Island. I can’t say enough about these people they’re wonderful. They kept in contact with me through the whole adoption process, sent me everything that I needed all the medical records , I won’t adopt from anywhere else"

"Proverbs is not your average rescue. The stories they have of taking animals from horrid situations is heartbreaking. They don't just take surrendered litters of puppies. They accept the saddest and what would seem the most hopeless cases and givevthrse animals the Healthcare and home they need. It is not so easy to adopt a Proverbs pet. There process is arduous and necessary. They are not just giving animals away. They are finding furever loving homes. All Proverbs people are volunteers with hearts of gold and nerves of steel. I believe they are superheroes!"

"Are you looking for a furry companion to bring into your home? Look no further than Proverbs 12:10, a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and rehoming animals in need. They are simply the best. Proverbs 12:10 was founded with a simple mission: to provide a safe and loving environment for animals who have been abandoned, abused, or neglected. With a team of passionate volunteers, they work tirelessly to rescue animals. One of the things that sets Proverbs 12:10 apart is their commitment to providing personalized care for each animal. Every animal that comes through their doors receives plenty of love and attention from volunteers. The team at Proverbs 12:10 takes great care in matching each animal with the perfect forever home. They believe that every animal deserves a loving and supportive family, and they go above and beyond to ensure that their rescues find just that. By adopting from Proverbs 12:10, you will receive the best of the best."

"I cannot speak more highly of proverbs! I rescued my first dog from them nine years ago. I’ve known about this organization for the last 11 years, and I’ve seen the magic that they do. The volunteers, the fosters, the supporters, everyone involved has nothing but positive things to say. my first foster dog turned into my first adopted dog. Which then turned into a second fostered and adopted dog. I referred so many of my siblings, friends, clients, strangers to this organization, because of how incredible they truly are. Not only did they give me a friend for life, they save my life. My dog Jed rescued me when I didn’t even know I needed rescued."

"We have followed Proverbs and seen the thousands of selfless acts and passion they put towards caring for these animals. When we adopted our puppy, Otis, from Proverbs, they were amazing to work with AND they were firm and clear about expectations for responsible pet ownership (which I appreciate!) Their impact on our community is tremendous and heroic. Their impact on our home is immeasurable; our hearts are so full thanks to the love and joy we have with Otis, and without Proverbs, that would not be possible."

"We got our girl Winnie from Proverbs 12:10 in 2022. I had never gone through a rescue organization before but had heard wonderful things about Proverbs. I was so impressed with how thorough the process was to make sure a good match was made. We actually did a trial week with a different dog that sadly didn't work out, but the rescue found another home for him quickly. And they kept us in mind because a few months later they contacted me about our Winnie and thought she would be perfect for us, and she was! So grateful for the work they do. And we have an online alumni group that is full of happy adopters and their furbabies."

"I don't even know where to begin... As you know, we are in some of the most critical times in the history of animal rescue. But here in the south, where animal welfare laws are far less stringent and poverty is much more prevalent, it is particularly heartbreaking. While there are a number of amazing organizations in the region worthy of being recognized, Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue acts as a guardian angel for at risk dogs and cats throughout Tennessee and far beyond. Their leaders, staff, and volunteers never cease to amaze me as they are always there to pick up the pieces when no one else is willing. My wife and I have a great passion for animal rescue, and while we do our best to volunteer and temp foster as much as we can, our life simply doesn't allow us to be as involved as we would like. In spite of that, Proverbs has never turned us away when we've come to them with an animal in need. Just last year alone, they helped us find amazing, loving homes for three pit bulls that we took in to our home with no real plan or resources in place... We just knew that we had to help these dogs. One was a severely malnourished male we found on the streets, rummaging through trash in search of food, and two others (male & female) who were locked in a small pen in sub-zero temperatures with nothing more than each other and a plastic dog house for shelter and warmth. In both instances, despite the fact that they were already drowning with animals in need, Proverbs 12:10 didn't hesitate to step in and help. They are constantly pulling animals from "death row" at kill shelters simply on "faith" that someone, somewhere will step up and offer to foster them...otherwise, they end up covering the exorbitant expense for boarding until a foster emerges. In many of the neighboring rural counties that have no animal control, they act in that role too. Now, they've even made waves with law makers in the state and have at least forced those in power to start having deep discussions about new legislature that will better protect these animals in need. They. Just. Keep. Going....even though there is seemingly no end in sight. As soon as they rescue one, they know there are three more waiting to be rescued next. I simply want them to be recognized and supported they should be, because I know it will only help them to save even more than they do now."

"Proverbs is the most loving, generous, caring organization I’ve ever come in contact with. We’ve adopted 2 dogs with them. Our first dog was 2 years old, and we found out that he had cancer 2 weeks after adopting him. Since proverbs was unaware of his illness, they covered all of his medical expenses all the way through! Vet bills, and his leg amputation too. Sadly, his cancer came back a second time and we had to put him down. Again, Proverbs covered everything, and gave us our second dog completely free too! They just wanted us to be happy and to leave with our new best friend! We now have Rocket, and are forever grateful for Proverbs."
